CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR DESIRE TO FOLLOW CHRIST IN WATER BAPTISM

Water baptism is a step of obedience to God. Acts says “Repent and be baptized.” People who have repented of their sins and turned to Jesus need to take the next step – water baptism. By baptism you are publicly declaring the decision you have made to be a follower of Jesus.

VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS

Before you are baptized, we would like to video tape your testimony to share with the congregation right before you are baptized. This is a great way to get to know you and to share with your friends and family how God has changed your life without putting you on the spot right there in front of everyone. This is a required part of our baptism process. Below are a few suggestions that will make the video taping go smoother and more comfortable for you.

1. Prepare your testimony ahead of time. If you can, type it out on a computer and print it in a large enough font to read from about 4 feet away. Use some of the questions on the application as a starting point if you do not know what to say.

2. Dress modestly but comfortably. Slogan t-shirts or short skirts are not recommended.

• What to bring for Water Baptism

a. Something to be baptized in:

(for example)

• Men: Washable pants and open-collar shirt

• Ladies: Dark shirt/blouse and slacks

b. Dry clothes to change into (including underwear)

c. Towel

d. Plastic bag for your wet clothes

e. Hair dryer if you want to dry your hair afterwards

• Instructions

a. Water in the baptistery will be heated to approximate body temperature for comfort.

b. In the water, the video of your testimony will play.

c. Candidates will change in bathrooms off the choir room

d. Last minute briefing will be given you immediately before entering the water.

WE WILL MEET 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE SERVICE IN ROOM 160, BEHIND THE WORSHIP CENTER STAGE.

IF A SCHEDULING CONFLICT OCCURS, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BEFORE.
